iApartments Tops List of USF Fast 56 Award Winners for 2024

iApartments secured the first position in the 2024 list of Fast 56 Award winners in the final quarter of 2024. Held at the School of Music Concert Hall, the 12th iteration of the event marked the first ever win for StartupBlink’s top hardware and IoT startup in Tampa 2025.

Offered by the University of South Florida (USF), the Fast 56 award recognizes businesses owned or led by alumni making a difference worldwide. In the case of this year’s winner, the company’s founder and CEO Dave Magrisso graduated from the Finance department in 1994. While this is the first win for iApartments, it’s his second award after Onic Energy in 2018.

Commenting on the win to the USF Magazine, Magrisso said, “Being No. 1 is very prideful because that means we’ve been able to accomplish some very tough growth goals we’ve set for ourselves. It’s also a testament to our extraordinarily gifted and talented team.”

One of DPL’s success stories, iApartments is a Tampa-based smart home automation company. It offers innovative solutions that automate different aspects for multifamily communities, helping both residents as well as property owners and managers. In addition to improving operational efficiencies, the platform enhances resident retention and asset protection.

iApartments has partnered with numerous leaders in the multifamily communities niche, including Mark-Taylor Residential, UBS Realty Investors, and NextMetro. A potential unicorn, it has expanded its reach nationwide, with thousands of units installed across different properties.

Since iApartments’ inception in 2019, DPL has been proud to serve as its trusted tech partner. “Witnessing their remarkable journey and achievements has been incredibly rewarding. As their needs evolve, we remain fully committed to providing innovative solutions that empower their continued growth and success,” remarked DPL’s Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer Waleed Riaz.

Here’s what Mohammed Syed, iApartment’s Chief Technology Officer, had to say about our collaboration.
