DPL Rebel Speakers Hosts Club Officers Training II in Islamabad

DPL and its Toastmasters club, DPL Rebel Speakers, welcomed the second Club Officers Training (COT) 2024–2025 at Workplace 4.0.

Founded in 1924, Toastmasters International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving public speaking, leadership, and communication skills. The organization currently has over 16,000 registered clubs in 145+ countries where members practice speeches, receive constructive feedback, and develop confidence.

The COT is held twice a year—once in June-August and again in December-February. Its goal is to equip club officers with the skills and knowledge needed to lead clubs to success.

In addition to training club officers in their specific roles, the event offers opportunities to share the best practices for running a successful club. It further fosters collaboration among clubs and districts via hands-on activities and networking opportunities.

DPL Rebel Speakers has been an active member in COTs since becoming an official club in October 2022. Executive Committee (ExCom) members have attended sessions hosted in Karachi and Islamabad, ensuring the club meets the goals of both DPL and Toastmasters International.

Explaining the value of starting the club, DPL’s CEO Syed Ahmad said, “In a software company, technical skills build products, but communication and leadership skills drive success. That’s why we launched our club to transform developers into confident speakers, collaborators, and leaders—bridging the gap between innovation and impact.”

Conducting the training were District 122 Pakistan’s District Trio, DD DTM Zaid Kaliya, PQD DTM Azam Ali, and CGD DTM Ali Amjad. They were accompanied by DTM Abrar Wani, TM Hassan Akram, TM Samreen Mukhtar, TM Humayun Kiani, TM Akash Kumar, TM Touseef Bin Talib, TM Shahzaib Iqbal, and TM Salman Hussain.

“A well-trained Executive Committee is the foundation of a thriving Toastmasters club,” commented the president of DPL’s RS. “Sessions like these empower us with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to inspire members, drive growth, and achieve excellence. After all, strong leadership creates strong clubs.”

DPL’s Toastmasters International club convenes every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. DPL Rebels can join sessions by contacting the VP-Membership or other ExCom members.
